Saturday, Please Don’t Mock Me

No writer’s block will stand in my way.

I banish you, wandering thoughts!

Stay on task, write the book –

oh wait, a cute man just walked by, and I stopped to have a look…

No!

Back to writing, back I say, I don’t care that it’s such a glorious day!

There will be others, now don’t you fret, and you’ll waste them as you would have today if you didn’t commit to write, I bet.

Dr. Suess, you are not, well, maybe if we find a fish in a pot, and the fish starts talking, and telling you what to do – but if that should happen – I’d go to a doctor, if I were you.

Fine, I shall go back to writing my story, about people doing things, maybe it’ll get gory.

    1. Hee, hee. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Yes, I shall now get back to work!! Are you a NaNoWriMo-er too? Happy and productive writing if you are! 🙂

      1. No Nano for me, I’m not one of the fortunates who actually have something to say. I would peter out after a chapter or two and then wonder what I had even intended to do, lol.
I certainly applaud those who attempt this though, that have the drive, the ideas to try it. I only have done short stories so far.
        Good luck!

      2. Thank you. I have a bunch of half-started stories… I think this is the best way to have a deadline without it messing something up for others if I failed. I’ve done enough of the fail thing though; I think it’s a great month for success! ;-} Cheers!

  1. The comments don’t seem to be open on the other post, about “Looking Through You,” so please forgive me if I throw one in here…
“Life is full of terrible beauty, but not all of us have the ability to make the terror beautiful.”
THAT is gorgeous writing! The entire article is very moving and since my daughter was driving my truck this week and a semi hit her (not a scratch on her!) and crunched up my truck, it made me think anew of when she was little and the little things we did. The things we remember…

    1. Yes, I had to close comments on early posts because I was getting a lot of creepy spam. I think whoever kept posting one line weird comments just wanted their site publicized or something. Since I’ve only had comments available for a week, I haven’t had any problems since.
Thank you for your kind words, and WOW, about your daughter! The near misses in life bring a crash course in appreciation sometimes, but I’d rather not have it come that way! Thanks for posting! 🙂
